Our 2nd birthday celebration

On Sunday 22 August, we celebrated our second birthday as Cornerstone Anglican Church Box Hill. As part of the day’s events, two of our church members were baptised, and it was a joyous occasion for all who were present. We are incredibly thankful to God for the way He has grown our church family over the last two years and for what He continues to do through our church.

Here are some reflections on the event from our church family:

Our recent 2nd Birthday Celebration Service was a truly special occasion as we gathered to thank God for His faithfulness over the past two years. One of the highlights of the day was witnessing two baptisms—a wonderful reminder of lives being transformed and people taking the next step in their journey of faith. It was a joy to celebrate together as a church family, reflecting on how God has grown and blessed our community. As we look ahead, we are encouraged by all that God has done and excited for all He is yet to do, trusting that the best is still to come.

Cornerstone’s 2nd birthday was such an amazing day, celebrating all that God has done over the past two years! It was so special to look back and see His faithfulness through everything He has done in and through our church family. One of the biggest highlights for me was seeing Joel and Indi get baptised in front of their church family, friends, and family. It was so encouraging to see them publicly declare that they stand with Jesus, celebrating the transformation He has brought into their lives and the new life they have through Him.

So many highlights from the 2nd birthday! Seeing Joel and Indie get baptised! It’s so awesome to see so many people do Meet Jesus over the last few years and then to see them come to faith has been so encouraging! I also loved the photo wall—such a great reminder of all that’s happened in the past two years! Excited for what’s to come in the years to come.

Celebrating the 2nd year of Cornerstone was such a special time. Our family joined the church plant three years ago when the church was only a vision. Seeing the church grow to where it is two years later has been such a privilege and to serve in fellowship with the community and see Jesus being shared to the sea of houses in Box Hill and beyond is such an encouragement. The baptisms were such a blessing and a reminder of why we are doing what we are doing here and a testament of God’s faithfulness. Seeing new faces each week and just doing life with such an awesome group of people has truly been such a huge part to my spiritual journey and I’ve seen the fruit of the ministry in my own walk with God and my wife and kids.

It seems incredible that we have already celebrated our 2nd birthday. The time has gone in a flash, yet so much has happened over those 2twoyears. It is so wonderful to see people coming to know Jesus for themselves and declaring it publicly. So many people came to witness and support Indi and Joel as they were baptised. It was so encouraging to hear each of their testimonies. Praise God.

Our second birthday was a great encouragement as we reflected on all the work God has done over the past two years in saving people and growing us in our relationships with one another. It was also a joy to celebrate his work in the lives of Joel and Indi—a big reminder of His goodness and His power to save.
