How did you meet Jesus?

By the grace of God I was born into a family who loves Jesus and taught me about Him. I can’t remember a day growing up that I didn’t know and love Jesus. I grew up going to Sunday school and youth group as well as playing drums at church since I was 10 or 11, I think. Throughout high school, Christianity became less of just the religion I was brought up in and more of a personal conviction. Although this was a slow process and often my life looked exactly the same as any of my non-christian friends—full of sin. I have always loved and followed the Lord, imperfectly, and He continues to draw near to me every day.

How has Jesus changed your life?

Jesus is my solid rock and my comforter. He’s changed my life because I’ve learnt to find my identity and value in Him alone. When I was younger man, I thought I had conquered life, and I found my identity in my successes. But through seasons where it's felt like life was falling apart, I remember that my value isn't in my career, my relationships ,or any achievements, but it’s that I'm made in the image of God and that He loves me so much that He took my place on the cross and died a death I deserve. Sometimes life can be incredibly hard, but I trust that my God is fully in control and He promises that He works all things for the good of His people and that has been an unbelievable comfort to me. He is faithful, and He keeps His promises . This is why I live for Him, knowing that if everything I have is taken from me, nothing can separate me from His love.
